One of the most memorable comments I received while serving on a creative team, was from a woman who approached me to say, “I just love coming to church. I never know what to expect.”

Could the same comment be made about your services? Are they fresh, poignant and creative? Are you incorporating relevant music, dramas or videos that enhance the message you’re striving to communicate? Or does every week follow the same service formula?

Nancy Ortberg recently made the comment, “Art can do something in us that sermons can’t do.” I am in no way diminishing the importance of solid biblical teaching. I’m simply passionate about seeing the creative gifts, God has given artists incorporated into worship services, in ways that honor Him, and speak truth and grace, to the hungry souls who are walking through our doors.
